Preparing for a job interview
Your preparation for your job interview is key. It makes the difference between doubting and entering with confidence. Good preparation exudes self-confidence and shows that you are really interested. So, get started with that preparation!
That one question “Why do you want this job at our company?” always comes up, right? But that’s also your chance to show how well prepared you are. The more you know, the more impressive you are.
So, dive into the company’s website and social media. Google the company too, where you will often find other valuable information. Think of questions that you can’t find answers to online. This way you show that you are really making an effort to conquer this job.
You’re doing well if you can find answers to these questions during your preparation:
- What kind of company is this? How big are they? And what kind of atmosphere is there? What is their mission and vision (Equestrian goal)?
- What do I like or find really good about this company? And why?
- What exactly did the vacancy say? Do I understand all the requirements and how do they fit in with this company? What appeals to me most about that?
- How do I meet those requirements? And how can I prove that, for example with examples from my previous (equestrian) work experiences?
Also check who your conversation partner is
Memorize his or her name and look at Google and LinkedIn.
“But then they see that I have viewed their profile!” Yes, and that is very well prepared. Maybe you have something in common, such as the same college or a common acquaintance. You can talk about that nicely.
A few final tips:
- Check the company’s dress code online and adjust your clothing accordingly. Are you in doubt? Then go for the neatest version.
- If you’re too early, you’ll be on time. If you are on time, you are too late.
- Double-check: does your LinkedIn profile (if you have one
)match the CV you applied with?

And don’t forget: be yourself, because that makes the best impression!
Here are the most important tips for a smashing first impression during your application. Choose one or two that appeal to you and make an impression!
- Let that smile shine! A bright smile is like a magnet for positive energy.
- Be a champion of experience. With a friendly greeting and a touch of etiquette, you immediately set the tone.
- Start with a compliment. A safe, neutral compliment about the environment sets the atmosphere on a cheerful note.
- Helping hands are hot. Show your attention and courtesy by small kindnesses, such as holding the door open.
- Names are worth their weight in gold. Remember them and use them subtly during the conversation to build a connection.
- Be confident, without arrogance. Radiate calm, but remain modest. A perfect balance!
- Action is key. Adopt an energetic attitude and show that you are going all out.
- Listen as if your life depends on it. Let your conversation partner finish talking and show genuine interest.
- Ask questions like a pro. If something isn’t clear, don’t be afraid to ask for clarification. It just shows your involvement!
